Windmill Design has a long history of creating branding and website success for numerous academic and scholarly publishing organizations, as well as trade organizations, online journals, and book publishers.
CSE Science EditorWe worked with CSE to bring Science Editor to the next level — redesigning the print publication with a new masthead, cover, and interior layout, concurrently with bringing it online as a user-friendly content-driven website. CSE itself has been a longtime client, our work having previously encompassed a logo refresh and a new society website.
Aries SystemsOur website redesign for Aries Systems features a rich and user-friendly experience for publishers, authors, and editors alike. The site features a video library, custom icons and infographics that illustrate the software's workflows, a quick-search Journals List tool for editors, and a wide variety of page layouts.
KWFA visual rebrand and website redesign for KWF balances the parent brand with two service-specific sub-brands (KWF Consulting, KWF Editorial). The new website creates a window into either side of the business, allowing users to easily find relevant content, while eliminating duplicate content entry for shared information between the two companies.
The Scholarly KitchenThis content-driven destination received a new logo and visual brand, alongside a robust re-platforming to a fully featured WordPress site. Collections of curated content, easy publishing by the chefs, integration with a variety of third-party tools, and a clean aesthetic have brought the Scholarly Kitchen to the next level.
CHORUSWe've assisted CHORUS in their growth and communication, bringing them to the next leve with a refreshed logo, visual branding and graphic design, brand standards, a user-friendly website hub that links to the search and dashboard service, and infographics that illustrate their role in the scholarly publishing landscape.
ISMTEA brand refresh from the ground up, to better communicate ISMTE's value. Work inclued a positioning statement, tagline, and brand story, followed by the development of a new logo, brand guidelines, stationery system, PowerPoint presentation materials, and a new publication design for ISMTE's e-publication, EON.
Woodworkers JournalThis consumer publication worked with us to build a content rich and highly visual online presence. The site achieves this through large images, multiple blogs and integration with their subscription and email marketing systems. The magazine serves its advertisers with robust online ads using Google DoubleClick for Publishers.
“I’ve worked with Windmill on several different projects for various organizations and each time I have been impressed with their project management skills. And what’s more, the end result has been a beautiful, intuitive and well designed product.”
Good communication is rooted in understanding our humanity, and holding onto it, as we immerse ourselves in process and technology to deliver goods. Windmill Design is founded on the idea that our work must enable our clients to express themselves, and relate with the world around us as people first. This ‘people-first’ principle means we listen well, we observe and absorb our surroundings; and we produce work that truly connects you to your audience.
