The Windmill Design studio process starts with learning as much as possible about our clients and their business goals. We add our own research, and check in with clients throughout the process to get their collaborative feedback on messaging, content, design and final deliverables. Our work focuses on communication—communication with our clients throughout the process, and creating good communication tools for our clients to use with their customers and prospects. We pride ourselves on keeping a tight schedule. We keep you informed of project status and send proofs for approval at important milestones, ensuring that everyone's on board with the final product.
Discovery: Most projects begin with a collaborative kickoff phase, in which we review your current communications tools, your current and future goals for communication and marketing, and then hone in on what's needed to make them more effective. This phase ends with a game-plan that will inform the rest of the project through completion.
Design: We present two to three options that show different ways of accomplishing the goals that we've pinpointed. We discuss the pros and cons of each option and get your feedback. We refine and expand, and continue to incorporate your feedback throughout the process.
Implementation: For web design projects, we begin building the site on our development server, testing profusely on all major current browsers for the best compatibility. For print design projects, we provide accurate quotes from local or national printers, or pricing for letterpress printing right in our design studio. Regardless of the medium, we manage the project and its development from start to finish, checking in all along to make sure that what we're doing is the best solution for you and your customers.
